Joshua T. Buckner is one of the founding partners of the firm. Mr. Buckner’s primary concentration is in the areas of matrimonial, family law, appellate work, juvenile delinquency, criminal, municipal court, residential real estate transactions and wills and estates. His experience in family law includes all areas including, but not limited to, custody, domestic violence, alimony, child support, business valuations, equitable distribution, the drafting of pre- and post-nuptial agreements, as well as, a large juvenile delinquency practice. Mr. Buckner has been involved in numerous matrimonial and juvenile proceedings in numerous counties, including Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Morris, Sussex, and Hudson counties. Mr. Buckner also conducts private mediation.

Mr. Buckner received his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1999 and is admitted to both the New Jersey and New York Bars. He is a 1996 graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Following his graduation from Seton Hall University School of Law, Mr. Buckner served as the law clerk to the Honorable Harold C. Hollenbeck, J.S.C., now retired, then Judge of the Chancery Division, Family Part, Bergen County Superior Court, during the 1999-2000 court year. Following the completion of his clerkship, Mr. Buckner joined the firm of Sunshine, Atkins, Minassian & Tafuri, ultimately making partner.

Mr. Buckner is currently a member of the Bergen County Bar Association and is presently a Bergen County Early Settlement Panelist. Mr. Buckner also served as the Chairman of the District IIB Fee Arbitration Committee. Mr. Buckner has been named a Super Lawyer since 2015, as well as one of New Jersey’s Top Lawyers by New Jersey Monthly Magazine, 201 Magazine, and Bergen Magazine. Mr. Buckner has been married to his wife, Josephine, for nineteen years and has two daughters. Mr. Buckner is also an avid marathon runner.
